Strategic collaboration with Siberian export companies

Over the last few months, DB Schenker Rail has launched a marketing campaign in the Russian market. Targeted measures are focused on winning additional customers and boosting transport volumes there.

Russia’s leading industrial sites, and is particularly rich in mineral resources such as bituminous coal and iron ore.
Along with representatives from the region’s major mining and industrial companies, members of government and business associations also participated in the event. Representatives from DB Schenker Rail, DB Schenker Logistics, DB Schenker Rail Polska and Railion Russija Services told the conference participants about transportation options, such as intermodal freight transport, and demonstrated the advantages of holistic solutions in logistics.

The presentations and numerous conversations with customers also focused on opportunities for future collaboration with coal and metal companies. The event was supported by the chamber of industry and commerce of the Kuznetsk mining area.

Jörg Siedenbiedel, general director of Railion Russija Services and head of the general agency of Deutsche Bahn AG in the Russian Federation, was pleased with the event: “As I see it, DB Schenker Rail’s road show in Siberia was a success, with more than 50 participants. Most importantly, we were able to establish a large number of contacts with the major exporters in the region, and I am confident that DB Schenker Rail will expand its activities into Siberia,” Siedenbiedel remarked.
