This year’s TransRussia took place at the Crocus Expo exhibition center in Moscow from April 21 through 24. The TransRussia is one of the major international transport and logistics fairs and celebrated its twentieth anniversary this year.
As in previous years, DB Schenker Rail again took part in the fair at the Deutsche Bahn joint stand, together with other DB Group companies such as DB Schenker Logistics and DB International. Visitors to the stand could obtain first-hand information about the diverse rail freight transportation services from the EU to Central Asia via Russia from representatives of Trans Eurasia Logistics (TEL) and employees of Railion Russija Services.
“The TransRussia is the largest and most important fair for the transportation and logistics business in the CIS countries and is a must for all transportation and logistics corporations in Russia and the European Union. The great importance of this fair is evident from the increasing number of exhibitors from China this year,” commented Uwe Leuschner, CEO of Railion Russija Services.
For Railion Russija Services, the Russian national company of DB Schenker, the exhibition is a good opportunity to present its activities in the Russian transportation and logistics market, as it is also attended by such major players as RZD and OTLK. It also provides an excellent forum for networking with customers, partner railways and colleagues from other sectors of the company. “We use the fair as a platform for exchanging information about our common objectives, for discussions and for promoting cooperation,” continued Leuschner.
One of the central elements of the TransRussia was the Business Program, which gave corporations the opportunity to present themselves and their portfolios to visitors to the fair. There were also a number of panel discussions about diverse transportation and logistics topics which were open to all interested parties.

At the event, the most important issues in the development of the Russian transport system are discussed, and new information systems are developed for interaction between different modes of transport, aimed at successfully addressing logistics issues in the global market for transportation and logistics services. Being focused primarily on cargo transportation services, the TransRussia exhibition demonstrates the full range of industry solutions - from transport and forwarding services to software and equipment for cargo handling.
